Building a Residential Solar Industry
Workshop Session II: Tuesday, May 4, 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Concentration: Business, Investment and New Markets
Creating everything required for a successful market is a daunting and complex task. Regulators often see it only as a need for proper regulation, policy makers and legislators see it as a need for proper laws, and financiers too often see it simply as a need for scales and risk mitigation. In order to rapidly create and grow markets, a more holistic approach is required, incorporating each of these elements.
Too often, however, both the advocates and the opponents of a market seek to fragment and obfuscate the real needs of a market, either to make the ‘asks’ seem smaller, or to put additional hurdles in the path. This panel will discuss and describe the different elements required in each area to create a successful solar program.
