Green Investing, Green Chemistry and Green Jobs
Workshop Session IV: Wednesday, May 5, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Concentration: Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety
Widespread publicity around the recalls of many products has underscored the risk to investors, fund managers, and manufacturers of “toxic lockout” products banned from the marketplace because of the toxic chemicals they contain. In response, some companies are looking to developing safer chemicals policies to reduce costs, spur innovation, and grow market share. Even more, reducing and eliminating hazards in production also means greater protection for workers. This session will talk about the intersections where investment policies, green chemistry and green jobs come together to protect workers' health, the health of the environment and the health of the economy.
