Can Green Jobs Solve the Biggest Employment Crisis Since the Great Depression?
Workshop Session III: Tuesday, May
4, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Concentration: Greening the Manufacturing Sector and Other Industries
Is
the economic crisis over? Will a Wall Street comeback solve widespread
unemployment? Can we all carry on without addressing the larger economic
context? This workshop assembles some of the country’s sharpest analysts
to examine how our current financial woes shape our vision of a green economy
and solutions to climate change. Speakers will explore the stark realities of
the employment crisis, what it will take to create decent, family-supporting
jobs, the critical role of investment and innovation, and how to create the
political will to build a vibrant and prosperous green economy.
