Beyond Energy: How Chemical Policy Provides An Untapped Sector of Green Jobs
Workshop Session IV: Tuesday, May 5, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Concentration: Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety
The current system for regulating chemicals in U.S. puts an unfair burden on workers, the public and environment by unnecessarily exposing us to toxic chemicals. Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families is a nationwide coalition of over 130 health and environment organizations, nurses, doctors, workers, and communities working to overhaul federal chemicals policy. This panel will outline how the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is failing us, opportunities for a new job sector of green chemicals and products and how to make a win-win-win for workers, public health and the environment.
Moderator:
Lindsay Dahl, Safer Chemicals, Deputy Campaign Director
Presenters:
Daniel Rosenberg, Natural Resource Defense Council, Senior Attorney
Linda Fisher, Dupont, Safety, Health and the Environment, Chief Sustainability Officer
Andy Igrejas, Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, Campaign Director
