Communicating Safety and Health Hazards: Ensuring Best Practices in Green Jobs Training

Green jobs create many benefits, yet the industry should be vigilant in protecting against emerging hazards. This workshop will foster a dialogue on ways to ensure sustainable workforce development is attentive to safety and health issues. The primary focus will be to describe best practices to include in weatherization training to ensure hazard communication and to protect workers and building occupants from exposures to the key ingredient in Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), isocyanates, the leading attributable chemical cause of work-related asthma. A roundtable of experts will discuss opportunities to eliminate workplace hazards through proper planning and engineering.
