Growing a (Sustainable Energy Economy) Industry - Part II
Workshop Session II: Tuesday, May 4,
2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Concentration: Efficiency and Renewables
Residential buildings account for 20 percent of U.S. energy consumption, and home energy retrofits have the potential to create good jobs, save consumers money, reduce carbon emissions, and reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil. A panel of experts, program implementers and local leaders will discuss strategies for addressing the challenges of taking residential efficiency programs to scale, including building public demand for retrofits; developing a skilled retrofit workforce; providing consumers with easy access to low-cost financing; supporting businesses that deliver a high-quality product and create high-quality jobs; and making energy savings and career opportunities available to all.
