Workshop Session I: Tuesday, May 4, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Concentration: Transportation, Urban Planning and Equitable Development

Increasing the environmental performance of today’s vehicles can create domestic auto jobs while lowering oil consumption and global warming pollution. This session will identify existing technologies that can increase the fuel economy of today’s vehicles and discuss how those changes foster economic growth. The panelists will discuss changes in federal policy that ensure clean auto sector jobs are produced domestically. This discussion builds upon a joint study by the United Auto Workers, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Center for American Progress which links jobs, fuel economy and climate policy.
